One letter from the current teacher of your primary instrument
Transfer-In Form: If you are currently studying in the United States on an F or J visa and decide to attend AU, you will be required to submit the "Immigration Transfer-In Form" before your AU I-75 or DS -7569 can be issued.
In your motivation letter you need to explain why you want to take the LAS course(s). An essay needs to address a societal problem or issue (be it social, political, legal, moral, or artistic) you found particularly compelling this year. This is an opportunity for you to display your ability to critically analyze a topic and effectively argue your viewpoint - illustrating your points with supportive evidence. One Motivation letter and one essay are sufficient even if you apply for several LAS courses. All documents must be in English.
Applicants who require a student or exchange visitor visa (F or J) must submit to International Admissions the American University, Washington, DC AU CFIS form (completed by applicant and parent) and a letter issued by a bank showing proof of at least .$69,757 for your first year of studies and living expenses. All financial documents must be dated within the past three months to be considered valid and must be submitted by the application deadline date.
Please have a college official from your current or most recent institution complete the Transfer Registrar Report, which is required of all transfer students. This form ensures that you are in good academic standing at your current or most recent institution.
